Summer Spotlight

June 6, 2014 • BoRSF, General

The BoRSF Research and Development program provides funding for Louisiana faculty through three subprograms: Research Competitiveness (RCS), Industrial Ties (ITRS), and Awards to Louisiana Artists and Scholars (ATLAS). An EPSCoR-style program to boost Louisiana researchers’ competitiveness, RCS helps faculty with the strong potential to successfully contend for federal research monies overcome barriers to competitiveness and position themselves to win external support. ITRS promotes partnerships between Louisiana faculty and business and industry, furnishing up to three years of funding to achieve specific project objectives with the larger goal of fostering meaningful, long-term relationships between universities and the private sector.  Through ATLAS, faculty with projects in arts, humanities, and social sciences can complete major scholarly and artistic works with the potential for significant influence in the field of specialty and for a wider public. Funds in each of these programs are awarded annually on a competitive basis, with proposals due in October/November, external reviews in winter/spring, and awards announced in April. Requests for Proposals for the FY 2014-15 competitions, including specific application guidelines, will be released in July 2014 and available on the Board of Regents Sponsored Programs website, https://rsi.laregents.edu.
