The first course of the second year of LaSIP’s Pilot Professional Development Project’s (PPDP) Instructional Coaching Leadership course series is entitled “Special Topics in Education: Advancing Teacher Leadership Institute”. This course is designed to offer in-service teachers a rich framework of practice in effective teacher leadership wherein teachers provide instructional leadership, focusing on practical application of research and best practices, especially in turning around or /transforming schools. Participants will experience multiple opportunities for inquiry, questioning and reflecting about teacher leadership, creating tools for teacher leadership, exploring teacher leadership roles, and seeking and applying solutions within instructional teacher leadership specific to participants’ school settings.
