A series of Instructional Coaching Leadership Courses was established by LaSIP’s Pilot Professional Development Project (PPDP) team during the spring 2011, was formally approved at the Board of Elementary and Secondary Education meeting of August 2011, and will be offered to content coaches from affected PPDP schools during fall 2011. An orientation and assessment meeting kicking off the second full year of the course series will be held September 14, 2011 at Southern University-Baton Rouge. The team of faculty from Southern University and Louisiana State University have worked collaboratively and diligently to develop and implement the course series and have it approved by both universities. Graduates of the course series will receive instructional leadership certification through the Louisiana Department of Education in the spring of 2013.
