At the first annual Louisiana Research Summit, the heads of Louisiana’s research campuses released a joint letter endorsing high-value collaborative research partnerships to drive innovation and economic development statewide. The letter strongly asserts the importance of these collaborative efforts, stating that “Research partnerships are the backbone of Louisiana’s 21st-century economy, providing big ideas, significant training, and meaningful job opportunities for all citizens. Through this summit, you have demonstrated how our research leaders are leveraging state and federal government investments along with strong private sector partnerships to scale up Louisiana’s economic competitiveness for the future. We recognize that we need more opportunities like these, and are actively supporting their development.” The full letter is available here.
