A project at LSU Alexandria has used highly competitive geology research funded through the Research Competitiveness Subprogram to not only bolster the principal investigator’s competitive, but also involve undergraduates in research at the highest levels. As a result of the project, seven students were included as authors on scholarly papers, five students presented research at State and regional meetings, and the Central Louisiana community became interested in geology.
