The Board of Regents Support Fund Endowed Chairs for Eminent Scholars program provides State matching on a competitive basis of $400,000 for a private donation of $600,000, to endow $1 million chairs. Chairs can be created at any level over $1 million, with the Board matching 40% in indivisible increments of $400,000. Since the program’s inception in 1987, 305 chairs have been endowed – 265 at $1 million and 40 at $2 million – across 26 campuses.
