Using an Undergraduate Enhancement grant, the Louisiana Scholars’ College at Northwestern State University has completed a new biology laboratory. The addition of the second lab, as well as the improvements to facilities and access, have helped to make the College more attractive to student recruits, who are accepting admission at a much higher rate than in previous years. The new lab will be a key component of the life sciences curriculum for both new and existing students, allowing introduction to important lab equipment, and encouraging higher quality, more ambitious student research projects.
