The Board of Regents committed matching funds to a Louisiana EPSCoR program that in 2010 was awarded a five-year $20 million grant from the National Science Foundation (NSF)—the largest single award ever made by NSF to Louisiana—for a major research and education project involving seven campuses. The researchers will leverage existing statewide computational, experimental, and intellectual assets to design useful, cost-effective, and environmentally friendly new materials for specific tasks.
