Peter John Cooley, a poet and faculty member at Tulane University, won Awards to Louisiana Artists and Scholars (ATLAS) support to complete a new book of poetry related to the effects of Hurricane Katrina and the 2010 Gulf oil spill. Professor Cooley’s poetry, rooted in interviews with people who experienced these catastrophic events, will engage the intersections of public and private spheres of understanding and response.
