With support from a BoRSF Awards to Louisiana Artists and Scholars (ATLAS) award, Dr. Bill Demastes of LSU has completed Spalding Gray’s America, an exploration of Gray’s artistic work that crosses the boundary between academic and popular nonfiction. Working from published works and private resources never before studied, Demastes has produced a crucial and important study of the prolific and influential performance artist and writer, who died in 2004.
