An ITRS project at the University of Louisiana at Lafayette is working with waste products and residue generated by the food industry in south and central Louisiana to determine the viability of developing biofuels, including biodiesels, from these sources. This project shows strong potential to contribute substantially to local and regional business and industry, as well as provide a model for adaptation in other regions.
