Thanks in part to an RCS award, a principal investigator at the University of Louisiana at Lafayette has established a highly competitive research program focused on geometric structures and their applications in broad engineering fields: computer graphics, computer vision, and wireless sensor networks. In 2010, the principal investigator received NSF’s Faculty Early Career Development (CAREER) award, a prestigious five-year, $400,000 grant, as well as participating in a second major NSF award studying 3D wireless sensor networks.
