LA GEAR UP offers free, university-based, one-week residential Summer Learning Camps as part of a series of activities known as the Summer/Academic Learning Projects. Middle and high school campers from across the state receive individualized academic support, research and plan for their future education and careers, and enjoy daily recreation and field trips. Since LA GEAR UP Summer Learning Camps began in 2002, more than 6000 students have taken charter buses to diverse camps and learned about life on multiple university campuses
