A team of LSU Ag Center researchers used an ITRS grant to employ advanced technology in developing natural fiber polymer composites, work with potential benefits for the agricultural, plastics and building industries. Progress has been made with industrial partners to use the technology developed through the grant in a number of applications across these industries. From the work, two patent applications have been accepted and more than $850,000 in external funding received.
