Every year LA GEAR UP students compete for $200,000 in Rewards for Success (RFS) Scholarships. Awards of $1,000, $500 and $250 are tied directly to academic achievement, parental involvement and student responsibility. The scholarships are paid into START Savings Accounts and managed by the Louisiana Office of Student Financial Assistance (LOSFA). Scholarships can be used for college tuition, fees and other eligible expenses once the winners graduate from high school and are enrolled at post-secondary institutions.
