In 2012, the Board approved ten fellowships at five campuses statewide – LSU, Louisiana Tech, Tulane, UL Lafayette, and UNO – to help recruit and retain underrepresented minority students in doctoral programs through the BoR/SREB Graduate Fellows Program. These students, selected by the campuses based on quality-based criteria, help to diversify Louisiana’s doctoral programs, and ultimately the faculties of higher education institutions across the country.
