A top-ranked Research Competitiveness Subprogram project, by Dr. Martin Tzanov of LSU-Baton Rouge, will evaluate the performance and recommend design changes to the water Cherenkov detector for the Long Baseline Neutrino Experiment (LBNE). The PI will lead the development of the detector simulation and event reconstruction of neutrino events in the water Cherenkov detector. His results will help guide recommendations for changes in detector design and calibration options.
