The eleven awards funded through the Post-Katrina/Rita Research Competitiveness and Educational Enhancement Program (RC/EEP) have all completed their work, having made major contributions to scientific understanding, educational quality, and economic development across institutions affected by the 2005 hurricanes. Twelve universities in the areas of metro New Orleans and Lake Charles received more than $27.5 million in funding through program, supported by federal disaster recovery monies.
