LaSIP seeks competitive funding opportunities for colleges and universities in which the institution has the option to utilize expertise in English language arts and literacy to develop proposals that focus on enhancing teachers’ knowledge of effective, research-based instructional and classroom practices. LaSIP’s literacy proposals must adhere to one or both of the following concepts:
• Research-based strategies that enhance teachers’ knowledge and practices of effective academic literacy/reading instruction in a single discipline or across disciplines, and/or
• Research-based strategies that enhance teachers’ knowledge of effective writing instruction in a single discipline or across disciplines.
