Delgado Community College used an Undergraduate Enhancement grant to establish a new laboratory for the Civil Engineering and Construction Management Department, which helped it gain full accreditation. This was before Hurricane Katrina, which flooded the building in which the lab was housed and destroyed the investment. But with FEMA funds the facilities were restored and the Department reaccredited in April 2008. Since the program received this funding, the PI reports, affected students’ rate of employment is nearly 95%.
