This summer at Nicholls State University, twenty 4th – 12th grade science teachers will learn about local ecosystems and the history of and issues related to Louisiana’s coastal wetlands and the consequences of human activities on such ecosystems. Participants will receive direct instruction in (1) content knowledge via a WETSHOP workshop sponsored by the Department of Wildlife and Fisheries in partnership with the Barataria Terrebonne National Estuary Program, and (2) science literacy strategies outlined by the Louisiana Comprehensive Curriculum.
