Climate can have dramatic effects on host-pathogen interactions, and an understanding of these relationships is needed to predict and mitigate the risks infectious diseases pose for humans and other organisms. In response to this need, Dr. Corinne Richards-Zawacki of Tulane University will quantify such relationships in amphibian populations and their interaction with an emerging fungal pathogen through a top-ranked Research Competitiveness Subprogram grant.
