The Louisiana Systemic Initiatives Project (LaSIP) uses federal No Child Left Behind funding to build strong partnerships between universities and K-12 schools by providing professional development opportunities for teachers. Funds are distributed on a competitive basis. The program has reached hundreds of teachers and thousands of students over its twenty years, resulting in higher test scores, more capable teachers, and students prepared for the 21st-century workforce.
