Short-rotation woody crops have the potential to provide large quantities of woody materials for biofuels across the southeastern United States, but the impact of intensive management and changing climate on these crops is poorly understood. Dr. Michael Tyree of Louisiana Tech University will study these issues through his top-ranked Research Competitiveness Subprogram project, and combine findings with a sister study funded by the U. S. Forest Service.
