A principal investigator at UL Monroe, through a Research Competitiveness Subprogram award, has made significant progress toward national competitiveness in his study of the effect of chronic hypoglycemia on renal function. The grant enabled the researchers to establish a model system to study the impact of hypoglycemia on chronic disease development as well as raise their profile through conference presentations.
