With funding from the Traditional Enhancement program, UL Lafayette was able to establish the Structural Engineering Laboratory, a major step forward for the structures program. To best utilize the lab and meet regional workforce needs, the project also developed and incorporated learner-centered teaching techniques along with extracurricular student projects. The pairing of the lab equipment and new approaches to teaching and learning will ensure that students retain more knowledge and are better prepared to make an immediate impact when they move into a professional setting.
