As we prepare for the FY 2017-18 BoRSF funding cycle with several programs significantly revised or refocused, BoR staff are planning a few novel approaches to discussing program changes and specific questions with administrators and potential applicants. Please note the following four outreach opportunities and broadcast to interested faculty and staff on your campus.
- Programs and Process Webinar: Carrie Robison, Deputy Commissioner for Sponsored Programs, will host a one-hour webinar on August 25 to summarize changes to the Support Fund and answer general questions. Each campus will have a single link to the webinar, but can invite individuals or groups to participate from a central location. The webinar link will be emailed on August 23rd to Institutional email addresses.
- Ask-the-Program-Manager Days: Managers of the competitive programs (R&D, Departmental Enhancement, and ATLAS) will set aside times during September to answer project- or PI-specific questions via Skype or phone. PIs can register for 15-minute call-in sessions (see registration links below) and may submit questions in advance to expedite the discussion.
- Campus-Based Sessions: Campuses may organize sessions for PIs to speak via video with program managers in 15-minute time slots. The Board no longer has video conferencing capability, so sessions will be hosted on Skype. To schedule a campus-based session, please email support@laregents.org.
- Q&A: A new Q&A system will compile and publish questions by program on a daily basis, replacing the published Q&As. This will enable faculty and administrators to access previously asked questions at any point during the proposal-writing process.
