Dr. Joesph Meyinsse, director of LaSIP’s long-running LIGO science-based Project MISE (Modeling Inquiry Science Education) with co-director Dr. Luria Young and site coordinator Ms. Bobbie Remble, conducted several days of on-site training at the LIGO-Livinsgton site. In addition to being able to observe the work and science that take place at LIGO, when the teachers return to Southern University campus, during the school year they may enagage in the annual “Share-a-thon,” an event at which teachers showcase the LIGO “snacks” and experiments that they constructed during the sessions at LIGO.
