Activated carbon is a valuable and useful chemical for industry, however, current production methods are energy-intensive, time-consuming and rely on fossil fuels. LSU researcher Dr. Dorin Boldor recently received EPSCoR funding to test advanced methods for converting inexpensive waste fruit peels into activated carbon using energy efficient technologies.
