The Board of Regents Support Fund, funded by interest earnings from the Louisiana Education Quality Trust Fund (LEQTF), was established in 1987. The BoRSF can support investments across public and private higher education institutions in four areas specified by the Louisiana Constitution: carefully defined research efforts; endowment of chairs for eminent scholars; enhancement of the quality of academic, research or agricultural departments or units; and recruitment of superior graduate students. Each year BoRSF earnings are expended through a series of competitive programs, as well as non-competitive Endowed Professorships and Endowed Undergraduate Scholarships.
