Led by Dr. Indu Kheterpal, a BoRSF Research Competitiveness Subprogram (RCS) project at Pennington Biomedical Research Center is developing methods to provide information on fundamental aspects of protein folding, a study of critical importance to disease biology as well as for basic understanding of protein structure. Issues related to protein folding/misfolding are important to understanding diseases like Type 2 diabetes, Alzheimer’s and Parkinson’s. Even at an early stage, this work has attracted significant federal funding.
